Hamilton Hawkeyes Lose in Homecoming Game against the Lakers

The Lakers and the Hawkeyes traded blows in the first quarter keeping the score at 0-0. We played well early in the game. Quentin Soerens completed a pass to Zach Boerman on a fake punt that got us into scoring position for our 1st Touchdown in the second quarter. Senior Spencer Vandenbrink ran in from 3 yards. The PAT was made by number 23 upping the score to 7-0. Hamilton’s senior Quentin Soerens ran the ball from the 8 yard line giving Hamilton a 7 point lead and setting the score 14-7. The Lakers Brody Lightfoot scores his second touchdown tying up the teams at halftime with a score of 14-14. The Lakers scored a couple of touchdowns early in the 3rd quarter and then Ben Boehm, number 24, rushed a 53 yard touchdown making the score 21-28. The Lakers punched in another score and at that point the game had gotten away from the Hawkeyes. In the fourth and final quarter of the game the Lakers came out on top, ending with a score of 41-21.
